Our fast track UK tax return service

Filling in your tax return correctly and submitting it in time is very important. We understand that there are lots of reasons why you may not have filed your tax return yet, but we're here to try and help you avoid a fine, interest and penalties.

Four simple steps...

(please see the How it works page for the nuts and bolts)

Step 1 : You make an initial, no obligation, enquiry. How do I request details on a no obligation basis? Click the Free Quote link on the right hand side of this page.

Step 2 : We reply to your enquiry, confirming the fixed fee chargeable, and you decide whether to proceed.

Step 3 : You send us the information  we need for the tax return

Step 4 : We process your tax return, send it to you for approval, and then submit it on your behalf to HMRC

Why use the service ?

Almost 1 million people a year are fined for failing to send their return to H M Revenue & Customs, because many people find tax complicated and time-consuming.

What is more, Parliament has criticised the errors and delays caused by H M Revenue & Customs. One in four HMRC tax calculations are wrong. They often do not reply to correspondence. They often demand tax that is not due. An accountant knows the ropes – but most people are not accountants, and some overpay their tax as a result.

Our self assessment tax return service will:

  • Deal with all your tax affairs no matter how complicated
  • Ensure you are correctly registered with HMRC
  • Include all your earned income, pensions, benefits and expenses
  • Deal with capital gains, investments and rental income
  • Complete your tax return and all supporting schedules
  • Calculate your tax position
  • Send you a full copy and explanatory notes
  • File your return online to H M Revenue & Customs
  • Deal with HMRC on your behalf
  • Help with all your tax queries and questions

Unless you deal with tax on a day to day basis, you can never be certain you have claimed all you are entitled to, or chosen the most tax efficient option open to you. You also cannot be sure that you have not overpaid your tax. It is also sad to say that you cannot rely on HMRC to get it right on your behalf.

What are the benefits if I use your service rather than attempt it myself?

Tax is complicated. There are many situations where there are choices. If you rely on HMRC, they may not make the right choices for you. If you try to do it yourself, you may not present the information in the most tax efficient way. We have years of experience that will help to ensure that you pay the lowest amount of tax that is legally possible.

Even if you cannot get all the information together in time, we can assess whether there is sufficient information to submit a provisional return. A provisional return will usually be accepted by HMRC on the basis that full information will follow – and that will usually mean that no penalty is payable. We will use our professional skill and judgement to establish whether a provisional return is possible.

You will be assigned a dedicated tax consultant who will deal with all aspects of your affairs . The consultant’s job will be to become totally familiar with your situation so that you can be advised on the most appropriate tax decisions to make. The consultant will monitor the progress of your self assessment return, and ensure that all deadlines are complied with.

You will be told precisely how much tax you can expect to pay and when, and where there are options available to you as to how the tax is collected, then these will be explained to you.

Of course, everything the consultant does on your behalf is entirely dependent on being supplied with true, accurate and complete information by yourself.

As a practising member firm of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, we are subject to its ethical and other professional requirements which are detailed at http://rulebook.accaglobal.com/

You will be fully protected under our professional indemnity insurance, details of which will be provided to you in our engagement letter.

You will have a personal service and you will be dealt with by the same consultant at all times. Some other online services are just "form filling" exercises, but you will have the same professional level of service you would receive at your local Accountants for a fraction of the price.

What can go wrong ?

  • You might give us incomplete or inaccurate information – or you may provide information too late to process – it is up to you to get that part right.
  • HMRC may make a mistake  of some kind – regrettably that happens quite often – if they do, we will be vigilant on your behalf, and seek compensation if they have caused you any loss.
  • We are human – we could make a mistake in processing your information – not very likely – but it could happen – but then you have the protection of  Professional Indemnity Insurance that ensures that you will not lose out as a result of a mistake by us. The law requires us to give you details of the Professional Indemnity Insurance in our contractual documents with you.
  • HMRC enquire at random into a sample of returns that have been submitted. They will also make an enquiry into a return if their suspicions are raised by anything.  Such enquiries can often be time consuming, requiring the supply of detailed supporting documentation. Our standard fees do not cover the cost of any such enquiry, and the fees would be discussed on a one off basis in the unusual event that your return was selected for enquiry.
  • Although we will use our best endeavours to meet the deadline, we are dependent on receiving information in time from yourself, and we cannot guarantee that your return will be filed by the deadline if you do not supply us with information when requested.
